Team Building

Team Building can mean different things to different people, but in this section we show the cerebral and practical tasks designed for building team co-operation, problem solving, communication and decision making. We can accommodate all group sizes with our vast array of equipment, and time for discussion can be allocated within the event agenda if required. Each task can be scored if required and we always provide winners’ medals as part of our package.

The challenges can be amalgamated to form a half or full day package and some can be sited indoors if required for an indoor or evening event.

The Big Top  Your objective is to erect the large Army tent, for the whole team to get inside it and ring the fire bell loud and clear, and then to dismantle the tent, fold it and bag it, but only one team member can see. Points are awarded accordingly.

Davy Jones’ Locker  Your objective is to crack the combination on the lock of the treasure chest. To do this you will need to solve the mathematical and cryptic clues hidden under some of the putting green flags which will lead you to the treasure chest and it’s booty. Only one person can leave at a time to collect each clue. Finally to reach the chest the team will have to decipher the giant mastermind puzzle.

The Great Egg Launch   Teams will have up to 30 minutes to design and construct an EGG launcher, capable of firing an egg as far as possible. The EGGS are in juggling balls for the construction and practice sessions and delicately normal fresh eggs for the competition distance throw!  There is a varied selection of equipment to use and endless solutions to the puzzle. A potentially sticky challenge with eggs often going straight up, backwards or even exploding in mid air

Soap Box Derby  The teams are given a wooden box, some plastic footballs and a real egg. The wooden box contains more pieces of wood, rope and some wheels. The teams’ challenge is to safely transport themselves and the egg from one end of the course to another. Only one person may pull the cart at a time and no more than two travel on them. In order to do this, they must build a go-kart out of the equipment provided and support the egg using the balls. All of the teams return at the end for a head to head finale.

3D Spider’s Web  Guide a blindfolded colleague into a 3D web without touching the strands so they can retrieve the pieces of the puzzle for you to construct.

Get the Picture  Communication and observation are the key skills in this game. The teams nominated managers have to describe to the workers how to rebuild a dismantled modern sculpture.  The managers have the pictures but cannot leave their seats and the workers may not see the pictures. Teams are scored on speed and accuracy.

Minefield Mayhem  Get from one end of a minefield to the other by only treading in the safe zones. The participants’ ankles are tied together with bungee cords and the game can be played head–to–head.

Nuclear Disposal   Using items provided, the team task is to transfer a highly radio-active material from a closed protective metal box into a de-toxification zone without personally touching either box or zone perimeter. To ensure safety procedures are observed when carrying dangerous materials, all team members are joined together at the wrists.

Three Man Ski Plod  Wearing the three man wellie skis, the group must make their way along the course and pick up pieces of a jigsaw and transport them to the next activity point.  Having amassed all the pieces of the giant jigsaw, the delegates must work together to assemble it. Only one delegate from the team may see a plan of the finished puzzle and he / she may only communicate in sign language to another team member.

Chinese Squares In order to obtain the stores token, each team will be given this puzzle, which involves arranging 10 pieces of a jigsaw to make one complete square and is much trickier than it sounds.

Puzzle Conundrum Corner  The team must work together to successfully complete as many of the puzzles as possible and gain maximum points ……..

Puzzles include Tower of Hanoi, Chinese Squares, Nail Balance, Code Breaker and Eggs High.

Firstly the team must successfully negotiate the giant spiders web, getting all team members thorugh without using any section more than once. Then the difficult part, they have to put together the giant interconnecting log pile – there are bound to be major discussions about this !

Rocket Launch   Your objective is to transport a delicate cargo and take it to the highest altitude, remain aloft the longest, and bring it safely back to earth nearest the launch pad using the items provided. In each invention box you will find a set of instructions, crafting implements and construction materials to assist you in your team task to construct your rocket.
